I wish there was a way I could personally thank Marcus, Ben, Winston & Ted.
For every song.
For every show.
For being the most incredible musicians I’ve ever come across in my lifetime.
Well you may want to check out our Thank-You Postcard Album project then, and our most recent fundraising campaign… that’s how we’re saying thanks!
Come visit The Wayside Inn.

I would like to thank Emma S., Erin D., Sofie O., Joann M., Nadia N., Jen W., Chiara G., Maria, Teresa M. (representing a wide variety of countries including Portugal, Finland, Sweden, Italy, USA) all for submitting postcards. They arrived safe and sound and will be put into our album with results of the After the Storm campaign by the end of the year. I know there are more coming! I’ll attempt to go to my mailbox again tomorrow and post another update soon! We’ve also raised $150 for Hurricane Sandy victims (who truly need assistance getting back on their feet) and there’s more we can do! Thanks and bless everyone in whatever way you care to be blessed for taking part in this!
Hello everyone!
Given the intense situation that Hurricane Sandy has brought to bear on the East Coast, a place that the band has shown love and concern for both now and throughout their career, we’ve decided to devote some effort to helping the rebuilding process.
If you would like to donate to this campaign, please feel free to donate either directly to the American Red Cross (they have a number you can text to: 90999 to donate $10.00) or you can use our crowdrise page where we will keep track of the donors.

*If you have already donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief, please forward the receipt to thewaysideinngroup@gmail.com to be added to our list.
And thanks to the wonderful and generous Mumford and Sons Blog, we do have a couple giveaways that will be randomly selected from the donors.
She is offering up the yellow Babel screenprint, and it’s hand-numbered as 775/1500. So beautiful. We’ll highlight the second giveaway as we progress through the holiday season and round out the campaign to give a last little spur to do something big and awesome. We will be collecting the total figure raised and that will be sent with our postcard collection to the band by the end of the year.
Of course, send us your questions, comments, concerns, etc via an ask or to the email address above.
It seems sort of obvious, and we don’t know what the morning will bring, but does anyone have thoughts on helping to raise some funds as a group for the victims and recovery from this massive hurricane beating down on the East Coast of America tonight?
alliseeisroad asked: hello! i just purchased a postcard and wrote my message when i realized that its dimensions are 15x10.4 cm. will this still be acceptable? this whole idea is really great, by the way! looking forward to future fundraisers. xx
Hello! I think we will be able to accommodate you! We’re excited you’re participating and we’ll make it work! Thanks for the support and we hope you’ll share the idea with your followers. I’m going to be checking the P.O. Box tomorrow. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Hello to everyone! Hope you’re working steadily on making/buying and sending off your postcards. But in the interim, we hope get back to the heart of the matter here at the Wayside Inn and that’s raising money as Mumford & Sons fans for charity for the holidays.
Please share and reblog with your fellow Mumford & Sons fans!
We’ve put our heads together and think for next campaign we should raise money for either (we think it needs to be a single focus this time around and we’re asking for your input!):
- Amnesty International
- The Bridge School
- Some other charity you’ll write in in the questions box below (a strong write-in candidate will be considered)?
